Wolf Creek Printery Artists
Richard & Vivian PranulisRichard & Vivian Pranulis

Richard and Vivian Pranulis began silk-screening in 1971, designing and printing a calendar for the year 1972. The calendar, inspired by the beauty of rural West Virginia, has been printed every years since. Until a silk-screen press was purchased, the calendar was printed by hand in small editions.

On moving to a farm in the Wolf Creek district of Monroe County, they gave their business the name Wolf Creek Printery; marketing the calendar was done through fairs and festivals throughout West Virginia and surrounding states. In 1986 the Printery moved from the farmhouse workshop to its present location in Alderson, WV.

The Calendar was screen printed until 1992, with Richard and Vivian sharing art work and production. Richard managed printing as well as the growing business, with the help of a skilled and loyal staff. Beginning in 1993, calendar images have been based on Vivian's oil paintings. These years also saw the creation of three Wolf Creek retail shops - efforts which included Richards's design plans and restoration of two historic buildings in Lewisburg, WV.

We appreciate so much our customers, who are in every state and several foreign countries. Thank you for your wonderful support over the many years!

Vivian Reynolds PranulisVivian Reynolds Pranulis

Born in Charleston, West Virginia, Vivian has been drawing and painting since childhood. While studying nursing at Alderson –Broaddus College (Philippi, WV), she had the good fortune to take art with Herbert Waters, master wood-engraver, who was a great source of inspiration.

After working as an RN for a few years, Vivian decided to pursue her calling as an artist. It was then that she met Richard and they began working together to create Wolf Creek Printery. For many years Vivian's vibrant oil paintings have been the basis for the Wolf Creek Calendar.
